Madly Ever After

There is another side to The Boy’s story, Azreal has a counterpart, the boy is still seeking the name of this daemon, but he’s the one who prevents the boy from sleeping.

Azreal is the conscious aware voice telling the boy how bad he feels and that people hate him and that he should be guilty and ashamed all the time.

The other voice is neither enemy or friend to The Boy. More a middle ground, I think for the moment we shall call him Obi Wan Kenobi. I’m sure a better non copyrighted name will come up but it’s not as though I want one of the pantheon of gods as the balanced mind in this story.

This is in now way shape or form turning the Boy’s story into that of Anakin Skywalker. Get that, no!

Now the reason Bendu keeps The Boy from sleeping is that he has access to The Boys memories and fears but tries to feed them into The Boy in a way that can be controlled. The problem is that Azreal feeds on these and immediately awakens and turns these into reality for the sleeping Boy.

So it’s not really Bendu’s active approach that prevents The Boy from sleeping but Azreals reaction to the food they’re getting.
