Madly Ever After

The boy and I had a technical painting class this evening and covered some areas we were missing out on as our paintings have been very desaturated.

The main learn from this is to start from a mid tone rather than the blacks, don’t use complementary colours to blend, and remember that digital colour world is not the same as pigments on a canvas.

All basic stuff but we didn’t know this until it was explained.

Things to take forward in our painting style.

But also there was encouragement to carry on and expand on the dynamic fluid painting we’ve been working on as we pick up random techniques many professionals haven’t used.

Sometimes it’s better not to learn and just do. (Yoda Unlearn you must)

So we made this.

It was a hugely cathartic piece and as the paint is still flowing may well be different in the morning as the pigment moves.

It’s a piece that looks different from each aspect and we’re hugely proud of it.
