CPTSD = BPD/Anxiety/HyperMania/ and more

These are all terms to help try and understand what’s going on in our heads. We are a semantic people and words convey our thoughts and feelings.

However the meaning is always subjective to the meaning we give to those words filtered through our own personal experiences and without the context of body language they become challenging unless you know the person.

To explain in british english.

Oi wanker – hello friend – usually said with a smile or grin

Don’t be a wanker – you’re a friend but you’re being stupid – smile and shaken head

Wanker – straight insult – frown or anger

It’s simplistic and I chose ‘wanker’ as it’s not universally understood

I had wanted to use ‘Love’ as an example but that’s more complex, would require more contextualisation and typing.

The point is, having a diagnosis doesn’t define you by the words used. It’s a shorthand for other people to help understand you. Saves explaining your abuse and medical history when you don’t want to.

Don’t let the labels name and frame you. That’s other people’s problems.

It’s tough enough dealing with the demons within than worrying about those on the outside judging and shaming you.

Be honest and open and behave with trust, love, peace, and grace. It’s the only way to keep the fears and doubts and demons at bay.
